Albie Morkel - Chennai Super Kings Team Players - IPL 2010

TEAMS CSK
BATS LEFT-HANDED
BOWLS RIGHT-ARM FAST MEDIUM

A hard-hitting left-hand batsman who can change the course of a match single-handedly, Albie Morkel is one of the several impact players in the Chennai Super Kings line-up. Coming from a family with strong cricketing roots, Morkel first came to the fore when he defied food-poisoning and slammed a century in a tour-match against the touring West Indians in 2003.

He is also an able medium-pacer, capable of bowling stump-to-stump and keeping the runs down. However, it is with the bat that he is more dangerous; his strike rate in ODIs is a staggering 102.48, and in T20s he scores at 139 runs every 100 balls.

He built a great reputation for himself in the first season of IPL and carried over his form while playing at home in 2009. With the IPL coming back to India, he will be hoping to make the most of the batsmen-friendly flat tracks.
