Along with Yo Mahesh of Delhi Daredevils, Abu Nechim was part of a lethal opening combination for India in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup. Snaring four wickets in the semi-finals, he almost single handedly took the team through.
He is quite nippy and gets the ball to move both ways, an art that some of the more experienced players are yet to master. Along with swing and pace he has something that most bowlers these days lack of control which is of paramount importance in this format of the game.
Nechim could offer good support to Dhawal Kulkarni in the Mumbai Indians unit.
