Location of Ayodhya
Ayodhya is located in the Faizabad district of the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Situated on the banks of the River Saryu. It is an ancient city of India that is traditionally believed to be the birthplace of Lord Rama of Ramayana. It was also as the capital of the kingdom of Kosala. The state capital Lucknow is about 130 kms from Ayodhya.

Ayodhya is believed to be a place with mild climate. However there are occasional heat waves during the summer months of April to June. This makes the winter months between November to February a preferable time to visit Ayodhya.
